Rare Grodnertal Wood dolls with Sea Shell Clothing This is a pair of early wood dolls on pedestals from the Grodnertal region of Germany. Both dolls are wood with wire holding them to the platform, it is wood painted orange and yellow with the word Batz on both. One doll is 5 inches with the platform. The doll has wood arms and legs typical of these type of wood dolls. The other doll is 5 ¾ inches with the platform. Both dolls has sea shells all over one is painted orange, blue and gold with some clear glitter. The other doll is yellow and blue with gold and orange trim with glitter. They both are in wonderful condition for the age of these dolls. They date to mid 1800’s. |
