Kister Black Haired china. 1860 she is pictured on page 89 in the book A Pictorial Reference Guide for German china’s. She is 12 ½ inches tall. She is a shoulder head on the original cloth body, the leather arms do not appear to be original to the doll but are appropriate and look good with individual stitched fingers. The doll is wearing antique white underwear and a wonderful early blue and white check dress with lace trim it is all hand made and appears to be original to the doll. The legs have lace covering and sewn on black shoes. The body was a home made body not commercially made. The china head has no chips, cracks or hairlines there is on small spot on the left side next to the eyebrow where the glaze did no take smoothly it is a little ruff spot, it cannot be seen by looking more by feeling. She is an very pretty early doll. |
